Ultrasound oscillator is also called ultrasonic transducer. The whole part of the industry that connects the transducer and horn is called oscillator.
The piezoelectric effect of piezoelectric ceramics is used to realize the conversion between electrical energy and mechanical energy (acoustic vibration), and the device is amplified by the radiation cover blocks matched with acoustic impedance. The frequency is fixed in the production. The transducers of different frequencies can be customized according to the needs of customers, and the transducers of different frequencies can be manufactured. The transducer oscillator can only be fixed at this frequency. In fact, the threshold of ultrasonic cavitation is closely related to the frequency. The higher the frequency, the higher the cavitation threshold. The lower the frequency, the lower the cavitation threshold, the easier the cavitation will occur.
 
At low frequencies, the time interval between compression and sparsity of liquids is longer. The bubble can grow to a larger size, enhance the cavitation strength, and is conducive to cleaning. Therefore, low-frequency ultrasonic cleaning is generally used in the case of large parts or high adhesion between dirt and workpiece surface. But it is easy to damage and corrode the workpiece surface. Therefore, parts with higher surface requirements are not suitable for selecting lower frequencies. Moreover, the frequency is low and the noise is relatively high. High frequency ultrasonic penetration force is strong, it is appropriate to clean parts with high surface finish requirement or complex surface and more blind holes.
 
On the one hand, the noise of high-frequency ultrasound is also small, which is suitable for cleaning some precision parts, such as some electronic parts, small bearing processing, magnetic materials, etc. For some special workpieces such as integrated circuit chip and silicon film cleaning, higher frequency ultrasonic cleaning is preferable. For some large workpieces such as automotive engines, valves and other large workpieces, low-frequency ultrasound should be selected for cleaning.
On the other hand, considering the effect and economy of ultrasonic cleaning, the frequency is usually chosen between 20 and 130KHz. The specific frequency should be determined by experiments. In summary, the frequency of the ultrasonic oscillator is fixed, so in production, there will be continuous testing frequency eligibility procedures, in strict accordance with the requirements of production.
